Vertex Service · Albrandswaard, Rotterdam

Every liferaft, cylinder and detector on board has a date on it. Our job is to make sure that date never catches you out.

Vertex Service is the service team of Vertex Safety B.V. We inspect, repair and certify the equipment a crew relies on when things go wrong: liferafts and lifeboats, CO₂ banks and foam systems, breathing apparatus, gas detectors and the lifting gear that holds it all.

We come on board while you load or discharge, work to the maker's procedures, and send the certificates as soon as the work is signed off. Each one is digitally signed and carries a QR code that a surveyor can check in seconds.

On board, not on paper

The work is done where the equipment lives

Most of our hours are spent on boat decks, in CO₂ rooms and in engine-room workshops. We bring the test gear, the spares and the paperwork, so your crew can keep working.

How a job runs

From an e-mail to a verified certificate

Five steps, the same every time. You always know who is coming, when, and what you will have in hand when they leave.

  1. 01

    You tell us the ship

Vessel, port and ETA are enough to start. Send last year's certificates too and we will read the unit counts from them, so the quote matches what is actually on board.

  2. 02

We plan around her port call

We follow the vessel on AIS, book the technicians and spares, and arrange boarding with the agent. If the ETA moves, the plan moves with it.

  3. 03

    The work happens on board

Technicians work to the maker's procedures and the IMO rules that apply. Every unit is logged on a digital service form: serial, condition, test result, photos.

  4. 04

    Certificates before she sails

Each completed form becomes a Certificate of Inspection with a QR code. The Master signs the service report on board, our office checks and digitally signs each certificate, and the PDFs are in your inbox and your portal as soon as they are released.

  5. 05

The next date is already in view

Every certificate sits in your customer portal with its due date, and our office works from the same list. The next service gets planned instead of rushed.

Proof that travels with the ship

Our technicians, our office and your fleet team work in one system. Service forms become digitally signed certificates with a QR code, and the whole history of every vessel is one click away for you.

Regulation update

PFOS foam has to leave the ship

Since 1 January 2026, SOLAS bans fire-fighting foam that contains PFOS, and existing ships have to be clear of it by their first survey on or after that date. If your system still holds old concentrate, we test it, take it out, clean the system and refill it with a PFOS-free foam that suits your installation, with the paperwork the surveyor will ask for.

Where we work

Rotterdam is home. We go where the ship goes.

Our workshop and stock are in Albrandswaard, on the south side of the Rotterdam port area. From there we attend ships across the port, from the city docks to the Maasvlakte, and travel to other Dutch and Belgian ports. Beyond the Benelux our own technicians work across Europe, and our service network covers the major port hubs of the Americas, the Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific.

Tell us the ship and the port. We will take it from there.

A vessel name, an IMO number and an ETA are enough to get a quote moving. Attach last year's certificates if you have them.
