ODME, UTI and instrument calibration
Calibration checks and service of ODME and 15 ppm bilge alarms, UTI and sounding tapes, thermal cameras, pressure gauges and other measuring instruments.

Why it matters
Some instruments only matter when an inspector asks for the certificate: the oil discharge monitor, the 15 ppm bilge alarm, the UTI tape used for cargo figures. If the calibration has lapsed, the instrument is legally blind, however well it works.
We check and calibrate against traceable references and keep the dates in your portal with everything else.
What we do
Scope of work
- 01
Oil discharge monitoring equipment
Function and calibration checks, flushing arrangements and records, on tankers.
- 02
15 ppm bilge alarms
Calibration accuracy check of bilge alarms and the oily water separator's monitoring unit.
- 03
UTI, MMC and sounding tapes
Tape length against a reference tape, temperature and interface sensors, and the certificates terminals ask for.
- 04
Thermal imaging cameras
Fire team thermal cameras checked and serviced to the maker's procedure.
- 05
Gauges and calibrators
Pressure gauges, temperature calibrators, dynamometers, torque wrenches and thickness gauges compared against reference instruments, with certificates.
- 06
Welding gas installations
Oxy-acetylene distribution systems: regulators, flashback arrestors, hoses and cylinder stowage inspected, as vetting inspectors expect.
Intervals
When it is due
Typical intervals under the IMO instruments listed. Your flag, class or the maker's manual can ask for more; we check before we quote.
| Item | Interval | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| 15 ppm bilge alarm calibration check | At each IOPP renewal survey (5 years) | Res. MEPC.107(49) as amended |
| ODME | As the maker and flag require | Res. MEPC.108(49) |
| UTI and sounding tapes | Usually every 12 months, or as charterers and terminals require | Maker, company SMS |
What you get
- Calibration certificate per instrument with the references used
- Service report signed on board by the Master or Chief Officer
- Photos and plain notes on every unit that failed, with a quote for the fix
- Next due dates in your customer portal
Rules we work to
- MARPOL Annex I
- Res. MEPC.107(49)
- Res. MEPC.108(49)
- Maker procedures
References are summaries for planning. The current text of each instrument, your flag's interpretation and the maker's instructions always apply.

A vessel name, an IMO number and an ETA are enough to get a quote moving. Attach last year's certificates if you have them.
