Why it matters

Extinguishers are the first line of defence and the item a port state officer is most likely to pick up. An empty gauge, a broken seal or an overdue tag is an easy deficiency, and an easy one to avoid.

We service them on board where we can and in our workshop where we must, and we keep enough spare units to swap what has to come ashore.

What we do

Scope of work

  1. 01

    Annual inspection

Seals, gauges, hoses, nozzles, agent condition and the weight of CO₂ extinguishers, with new service tags.

  2. 02

    Recharging and discharge tests

Discharge and recharge at the intervals set by the maker and the flag, with spare charges supplied.

  3. 03

    Pressure testing

Hydrostatic test of shells when due, and condemning of units that fail.

  4. 04

    Wheeled and foam units

Wheeled extinguishers, portable foam applicators and foam units.

  5. 05

    Hoses and nozzles

Fire hoses pressure-tested, couplings and nozzles checked, hose boxes completed.

  6. 06

    Fire-fighter's outfits

Suits, helmets, boots, gloves, lifelines, safety lamps and axes checked against the FSS Code list, plus aluminised suits and fire blankets.

A vessel name, an IMO number and an ETA are enough to get a quote moving. Attach last year's certificates if you have them.
